Nathan's Famous

Nathan’s Famous

In 1916, Polish immigrant Nathan Handwerker started a nickel hot dog stand on Coney Island with a $300 loan from two friends and his wife’s secret spice recipe.  Known for their Coney Island hot dog eating contest every Independence Day, Nathan’s world famous beef hot dogs are made today with the same secret spice recipe as they were in 1916.

Nathan’s Famous features an extensive menu including fantastic crinkle cut fries, sirloin burgers, chicken, Arthur Treacher’s seafood and much more.  You can now taste this legendary icon right here at Old Town!
